Celebrating Social Work Month in March
Here at The Social Workers Association of Alberta (SWAA), we are thrilled to celebrate Social Work Month throughout the month of March, culminating in Social Work Week from March 4th to March 10th. This year’s theme, “Social Work Practice: Grounded in shared values and ethics,” aligns with the Canadian Association of Social Workers' (CASW) overarching theme of “7 Points of Unity – Many Possibilities,” with a particular focus on the new code of ethics.
Throughout the month, we have planned a series of engaging activities and events aimed at highlighting the invaluable contributions of social workers and promoting professional development within the field. We invite you to join us in celebrating this important occasion.

Webinar: The Shifting Landscape of Homelessness in Post-Pandemic Calgary

This year’s theme is ‘Buen Vivir: Shared Future for Transformative Change’, which is rooted in the Global Agenda and emphasises the need for social workers to adopt innovative, community-led approaches that are grounded in indigenous wisdom and harmonious coexistence with nature.
